Embracing the Beauty of Travel: Exploring God's Earth

Recently, I stumbled upon discussions on social media regarding travel among Christians. I was taken aback by the belief held by some that travel should only be tied to mission trips, while others felt guilty for desiring to explore the world. It seems we have reached a point of demonizing various aspects of life. However, as believers, we should remember that the Earth and all its wonders belong to the Lord. In this blog, we will explore the beauty of travel, the opportunity it provides to experience God's creation, and the positive impact it can have on our lives.

God's Faithfulness Beyond Comfort Zones

Psalm 34:8 (NIV) - "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."

Walker Percy aptly describes travel as a way to meditate on God's blessings and His rich creation. Stepping outside of our own culture and comfort zones allows us to experience His faithfulness and trust Him in new and profound ways. Travel can even become an act of worship, enabling us to develop character and skills naturally.

Engaging with the People We Are Called to Reach

Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) - "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

We were never called to isolate ourselves, especially from the very people we should be reaching. Jesus Himself met and ministered to people from all walks of life. By immersing ourselves in different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles through travel, we can better understand and connect with others.

Experiencing His Majesty and Beauty

Psalm 19:1 (NIV) - "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."

Travel allows us to witness the incredible beauty of God's creation. Whether it be admiring a stunning sunset, being captivated by breathtaking architecture, or enjoying the wonders of nature, every encounter becomes an opportunity to glorify the Lord. The beauty around us is a testament to His supreme creativity and deserves our gratitude.

Reflecting on the Impact of Travel on Our Lives

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) - "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."

Travel not only provides enriching experiences but also exposes us to the emptiness many people face without a genuine relationship with God. These encounters teach us gratitude and inspire us to seek opportunities to share His love. As Mel Fletcher suggests, taking the time to enjoy God's earth and His creation brings immense pleasure and leads to personal growth.

Embracing the beauty of travel allows us to witness God's creation firsthand and experience His faithfulness in new ways. As Christian women, we should appreciate the wonders of the Earth with gratitude and joy. Travel not only broadens our horizons but also transforms us from within. So, let us venture out, immerse ourselves in different cultures, and find God's glory wherever we go. By doing so, we open ourselves.
